Hi all,
Sorry for the "sawang".
The big M overpowered me...hehe
So here goes:
Update Raya:
I cooked....oh yeahhh...did I cook....
I made, Ayam Masak Merah, Rendang Dinding, Rendang Tok, Udang Goreng Kunyit, Nasi Tomato.
That was fun. I made it on my own, sans the help of in laws. They did offer, but, I felt overwhelmed when every 5 minutes they are asking me...."bawang ni nak lagi ka" "nak tomato lagi ka" so, I told them very nicely, just sit down and I am fine...I like my peace and quiet(my version of quiet la) when I cook...
The verdict?Cik Abang said, still room for improvement, but all in all, it was good. FIL was happy, even though he didn't tell me, he told our best friends when they called to wish Selamat Hari Raya.
The family enjoyed the spread but, as usual ada hiccups la kan...(with one of his sibling...)
Needless to say, I stayed in my room most part of the day of 1st raya. Which was good, as I was kinda tired after all the slaving in the kitchen, but now that I think back, demmit, it was Raya man...I wished I had a better Raya!
Update Puasa Enam:
Alhamdulillah, this year we decided to do it together.
And we managed to do it, by the 3rd week of Syawal dah settle.
That was nice.
I felt so grown up already. You know that feeling? Macam dah mula a new phase in my life.
I hope I will maintain in this phase. InsyaAllah.
Update Ketamak Halobaan sepupu sepapat dan pakcik makcikku:
sudah meluahkan perasaan...heheheh...
Update New Hobby:
Recently, I have been infected by a small virus by my friend, which is menjahit. I have a sewing machine that I took from Mak, coz she has 2. The other one is a heavy duty one, so, I asked for the Singer machine. Which she gladly passed to me. I have now tried to do a few things, table cloth, langsir, jahitkan temu kain pelikat Cik Abang, the sewing is a bit senget benget but, I enjoyed it. So, last weekend, I went to a friend's house. She's a very well known tudung maker DIY blogger. It has been a while that she asked me to come and attend her classes or buy her templates. So, that was what I did last weekend. I copied some of her tudung templates and then she gave a step by step instruction on how to make the tudung. I came back home, and I did just that. I cut the kain jersey that I bought in Jakarta last time, and then by this week I think I will be able to sew it. Bakrum takde!hehe, dah order, tgh tunggu delivery!
I hope I'll like it. I am attending her class this Nov.
I'll surely be bringing the mesin jahit, and will try my hand at menjahit with her!
I have always wanted to learn to menjahit. Maybe this is my first step.
I have asked Mak to teach me how to potong kain. (She used to be a dressmaker masa we were smaller)She's so excited that I am interested in the jahit menjahit thingy!
Cik Abang is happy too, but as usual, he's warned me, I hope this is not just a phase...and please, do not invest in any other equipment yet!hehe(this was when I started to talk to him about my friend's 3 huge machine!hehe)
I am now surfing the net for patterns!!!lol....
Well, itulah my update for the moment.
I have been busy at work too.
Itu yang tak sempat nak drop a comment at friends' blogs or even nak mengupdate sendiri punya!

Am I digging my own grave???
This Raya, it's his turn.
So, we will go back to his hometown for First Raya.
Usually we will spend a few days there.
So, this year, I said to Cik Abang. Let me cook.
I want to cook so that I can jamu semua orang makan.
So, last week, he announced to the family.
And the calls started.
"Buat masak ini, masak itu...not that one, masak ini..."
Then it dawns on me, aiyaa...what did I get myself into?
Even Mak said to me, whylah nak susah-susahkan diri.
Hhahahaha.. So, tahun ini, saya akan masak...
Wish me luck.

Flyers that can ruin us ;-P
A week ago, I received in my mail, the flyers from Is*tan. As usual it was their sale, sale and sale info. But this time, there was a 3 days pre-s*le treats for members. Usually, there will be good deals, because, members will get extra 10-20% discount on certain items. This time around, for evey RM100 you purchase cosmetics, you get RM10, good deal no? Especially I was planning to buy my mosturizer and what nots, I will always but kat sini, for the points actually, but this is a bonus. However, the problem was, it was between 7-9 Aug only.
As I cerita in my last entry, on Friday 7 I balik Penang, so, I was so sure, this time, there was no way I will have the time to go for my pre sal*s thingy...
However, on Sunday 9 tu, Cik Abang decided to go back after breakfast, which means, we will arrive in the early afternoon. So, dalam perjalanan tu, as we were berborak-borak, I selitkan la about this sal* thingy....I said, wouldn't it be nice if we could have time to check out Is*tan...if we have time later when we sampai rumah....(very subtle...kan...hikss)
He just look at me without saying anything.
Then, when we arrive at the exit where he was supposed to turn in for our house, he said to me, nak pegi Is*tan kan...sambil senyum to me...so, there we go...dalam hujan lebat tu. Darlingku ini memang suka nak buat terkejut sama isterinya la..Punyalah happy I masa tu, tapi buat2 cool la kan.
Sampai je di KL** we stopped at G*000. He said he saw something the other day, and he wanted my opinion. Rupa2nya dia suka ada these few shirts ni. Rugged looking, style sekarang ni. Yang belang2 dan macam muda remaja....hmmm...apsal la pulaknya suami ku ini...hehehe...so he tried them on...well, ada satu jelah yang I berkenan, which was nice actually, so, he took it. Tapi, seriously, he sendiri said to me, saje, nak beli baju ranggi rangi sikit...mmmm...yelah...whatever...
Then, we went for my stuff. Senang je, sebab I know what I want, so, we went to the counter, told them the name and then, when they gave me the receipt, tak cukup rm17 je nak ke next hundred, so, as usual la kan, I caved to the tactics of kedai, pergi cari benda utk cukupkan sampai seratus tu, pusing the cosmetic floor tu, yang nak pakai dan yang murah sikit, is the deodorant for him, kat Kie*l(betul ke ejaan). Walaupun actually I think it is superfluously expensive, but finally Cik Abang says, it suits him and it's really macam the M&S yg dia selalu pakai which dah discontinue...so, oklah, as long as he's happy kan.
So, there we were with the vouchers. I said, oklah, I can use this by end of the month, then he started to say, well, since we are here, let's pusing(???!!,yeahhh terkejut gak I) he said let me use it for my baju ranggi satu lagi. hehe...oklah whatever yang...
And to top it off, he found a good deal, ada 60% off di Na*tica. so he sambarlah satu seluar dan satu shirt which finally would have cost him a bomb, but with the voucher and the 60% off, jadi affordable la...good for him! dah ada a few baju raya for him. oklah kan...
He was so happy...
Yang tak happy is me, I went to try Lev*'s jeans, beriya-iya I cakap pelan2 to the salesgirl tu, my size is so and so, dia dgn kuatnya cakap, "no, the size is this or this"...dammit!!! so, I took the genap number size and pegi try la kan. Dahlah takde hati, pastu, the cutting pulak mmg tak cantik. So, I keluar, and gave it back to her, then I pegang another one jeans, I baru nak tanya something, she said, as loud as she can "no, that one you cannot wear"....boleyyy?????arghhh....I know girl, I am fat, but, you don't have to be a bit*h about it ok....
darn it!!!!there goes my happiness of shopping at that place...sedih betul...Cik Abang tried to cheer me up...yelah kan he got some nice things, and I, got this type of treatment pulak...but memang I feel that there is no nice shops for ladies my size, and it's either, jubah or baju longgar or men's jeans...aiyooo...inilah I tengah check out with my sedara mara in France, kalau-kalau boleh buat bisnes baju utk plus sizes yang elok-elok sikit....what do you think....

Trip Up North
Last weekend I went back to Cik Abang's kampung up north.
His mother was scheduled for a cataract operation, so he went back earlier. I drove there alone, after work on Friday. Well, I did ask around if there was anyone who wanted to up north with me on my FB but nobody replied, so there I was driving sorang2 to the north.
It was nice actually. hehe. I like driving. When he is not next to me. I don't know why, when your husband is next to you, you get kind of nervous. Do you get that feeling? I know I do.
So, the drive north was very smooth, especially now that there is no more stopping at Ipoh, you can go all the way to Penang without having to stop and pay toll at Ipoh, that was at least 30 minutes time saving.
I stopped at Sg. P*rak for rest and prayers. I tried not to attract attention, as I was alone, and it was beginning to get dark, so, I did everything very quickly and there I was on the road again. It was not that scary actually, because there are many cars driving at the time, so it was like an "organized convoi".
Once I arrive in Juru, and entering the bridge, it was a nice feeling, as I dah sampai...yeay...and it was a 3 lanes bridge, dah siap dah the 3rd lane tu. But, biggg but, the people seems to drive a bit slower there and they seem to forget that there are 3 lanes now...sighhh...
So, I arrived safely at their home. But they were out for dinner. So I waited outside the house. It seems that due to her BP, her operation is postponed. So, the weekend was just finally a weekend away for us. Well, lagipun dah dekat Ramadan kan, so it was good that we went back too. When they came back from dinner, Cik Abang ajak I pergi makan Laks* Gu*ney Dri*e. But I was too tired, I said, let's go for S*p Ham**d. The stall is next to some hot spots for bars and the lepak walls for not so manly guys...hehe...
The infamous Sup...macam2 ada

As you may know, when we go back, I am the fillial daughter in law(yeah, right!!) Malaslah nak cerita what happened, as, it was just the same ol' same ol'. But it was nicer la this time. Even Cik Abang said to me at one point masa balik tu, "thank you sayang for understanding". Kalau I cerita, you will not believe, so, baiklah tak payah cerita.
It was all in all a nice stay for him and myself, I now know that it takes about 2.5hrs to go to KK, and about 4 hours to go all the way to Pen*ng. It will cost about rm50 for toll+bridge. My car's minyak: rm 70 untuk sampai ke sana. bak kata some advert: cost of parents smiles: priceless...so, I will do it again, if it happens again. I liked the cruising on the highway...Don't tell Cik Abang...he's worried when I am on the road, hehe.Dulu2 I masa single mingle, ok jer, pegi sampai Perlis, JB sorang2. Sejak kawin ini 2nd time dia kasi I pegi sorang2 jauh sikit dari Klang or Put*ajaya. hehe...
Enjoy the pics.
When was the last time you all went to P*nang?
Nasi Tomato, we had this for breakfast, very famous in Penang, they don't really eat nasi lemak.

Serabai, this one is so yummy!!!

1World
Last weekend Cik Abang and I went to Kota K*na*alu for our friends wedding. It was a lovely wedding. We had so much fun. It was a logistical achievement too as it was attended by his siblings and friends (3 vanfuls of us) who came all the way from Fran*e and KL.
One of his sisters said, the siblings were not allowed to take the same flight. So, each family had to take different flights, the mum's reason, she doesn't want to lose all her children and grandchildren if something happened to the flight! Valid reason I guess.
Her bride is a Sa*ahan and there were 2 ceremonies, 1 at the church and 1 reception. I enjoyed the reception (I missed the church wedding as we were informed too late about the change of date). They started of with a few cultural dances, and when they invited us over to dance with them, I was so thrilled. Hahahaha...I really let loose that evening, and Cik Abang mula2 malu2 nak berdancing dancing, but at the end, he had to join too, coz, he was the only one sitting...hehehe....I love to dance, even though I am not a good dancer, and it has been awhile since we set foot in a club, so, apa lagi kann...
by the way, the wedding was held at a beach and it was sooo beautifully set. Suddenly my romantic side came out in overdrive...hahhaha....(nope, nothing happen, sebab bendera jepun status ok!hehe)
During the wedding, they arranged for a few activities for us too. They rented 3 vans to take us around, so, on Sunday morning we went to town and went to the Phi*ipp*nes' market, then walked around at the morning market. I had fun walking around and buying a lot of pearls and crystal jewelleries..hehe..
On Monday, we went to the house of the bride's uncle. It was situated about 30-40 km from town, and I then realized that, even if we were in KK, the infrastructure is not the same anymore. No more lampu jalan. GPRS?what gprs?? grocery stores? petrol stations...all these are actually a luxury over there.
But what a beautiful place they have. The uncle bought the land 10-20 years ago and he had also acquired the water source there, so they had literally a waterfall in their backyard that can be seen from the kitchen...sooo beautiful and serene!
They served us with lunch and as I was about to ask for some chilli sauce, I stopped myself, as I realized that this is a luxury for them, it is not as if the grocery store is next door. I am so thankful now for the life that I have at home.
All in all, this trip was an eye-opener for me, and I understand a little bit better their culture and their way of life and appreciate this kind of experience so that we can all understand what is 1Mala*sia. I think, I will not be able to say, that I understand the meaning and the concept of 1Mal*ysia because, after this trip, I realized that, I am still at the beginning level of learning the culture of my friends.

It's been a month now that Mak and my nieces are staying with me.
The girls' mum was attending a course.
So, by now, their mum is back.
But, the other day, as we were packing to come back to our house from my sis' place after the kenduri(my bro's wedding was held at my sis place), the eldest of the girls said to me, "mak jom balik rumah mak" she calls me Mak (her mum: Ibu, my eldest sister: Mama)
I said, "rumah Mak? takmo balik rumah Ibu ke?"she geleng kepala.
Wait, what do I do?
So, I asked them, what do we do? Their Ibu, gave the green light. I was so surprised. Tak rindu ke?mmm...well, I am not gonna say anything. She knows better. I'll be there to help her while she settle her things with her hubby la kan...
Their Ayah? sepanjang staying with us, only saw him sejam. Itupun sebab nak ambil kunci rumah. Tere tak? Now, dah takde break dah kalau I nak cakap apa2...hehe...too bad.
Their routine now is:
morning, will watch cartoon, their fav is: Mickey, Little Einstein, Diego, Dora, Tom&Jerry and what nots. I notice that they are now singing to some tunes and wordings that I don't even understand, then when I watch the cartoons with them, I recognize those tunes...hehe...so cute!
They even interact with the cartoon. They will answer when the character asks questions etc...wow...interesting. This is where they start to pick up some vocabularies I guess.
In the evening, they will spend the time with us. Makan sama-sama...then play a bit, and then at 8.30pm to 9pm they will start their bed routine. Kakak will go to bed alone upstairs, sorang. Tak takut. Adik, will want me to tidur sebelah and tepuk2 unless if she's too tired, she'll just doze off while playing/lying down.
I am bracing myself for the time that they are going home.
Isk susah nya.
Mesti banjir la sg bul*h ni....
Itu belum lagi fikir pasal Mak.
mmm...sedihnya...
btw, my sister ni preggers.Yups, sempat.gaduh pun sempat.
to make a long story short, she says she will give the baby to us. Kalau its a girl. The hubby pun dah agree.pakai sms je agree.
I tak harap sangat. kalau dia sanggup kasi lepas lahir alhamdulillah.kalau tak, i jaga dari jauh je lah macam dorang ni.
tapi the weird thing is, I mengidam macam orang mengandung. pelik.I thought it's just in my head. But the other day, I was craving for assam pedas with sayur asin(must have sayur asin) and I had my sis in law to cook it for me. Bila dah siap, I makan macam tak pernah jumpa. Dan nikmatnya, lain. Now I get it when people says they mengidam.hehe...weird huh!
I hope I won't be having other weird cravings la.

Kecil Tapak Tangan....
(deleted)

Inilah pengantin baru...love her baju so cantik...

my sister yang design the hantaran. I told her let's do the fresh flower concept this time. Tapi...bagai nak rak cari fresh flower in Penang. Nasib baik our previous wedding consultant kasi the address of a florist...
The menyambut tetamu is happening on the 4 July. Saturday. It will be done at my sister's place. Sesiapa yang duduk dekat P*rt K*a*g, dijemput datang...nak alamat penuh nanti I kasi ok. Yang duduk jauh if nak datang pun sangatlah dialu-alukan....kecil tapak tangan, nyiru saya tadahkan... Kak Ezza, I hope you and family can come, dekat je dengan rumah akak!

It was a fun weekend for the family sebab we were put up in a nice bungalow tepi pantai in Batu Feringghi.
You all can imagine the havoc for the family.
There were 7 families in all dalam banglo tu.
Luckily there were 4 bathrooms.
There were 3 rooms, but we only used it to change baju.
Sleeping time, macam masa raya...bergelimpangan everywhere.
They gave us a lot of mattresses. So it was very convenient.

I have now taken over some of Mak's duties, as in, menjemput saudara mara and friends to this ceremony. Rasa macam dah adult sangat...hehehhe...at the moment I am forwarding a lot of menjemput smses, esp pada yang tak sempat nak hantar kad.
Pada yang tak busy on the 4 Julai, jemput ye...
